Kwanzaa means "first" in Swahili and signifies the first fruits of the harvest. In 1966, Maulana Ron Karenga adopted the basic principles of the harvest celebrations in Africa to create the observance of Kwanzaa. From December 26 to January 1, many people of African descent celebrate Kwanzaa.

The seven principles of Kwanzaa are: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba and Imani.

This sweet chill track is "Imani", the seventh and final principle of Kwanzaa. Meaning "faith" in Swahili, this day is for honoring our traditions in our families and communities. This track is perfect for a Kwanzaa get-together upholding traditions or for one who using this time for self-reflection (relax, meditation). Enjoy!
