One Saturday evening in November, the thought of making a music channel on YouTube came to mind. I did some research on how to get one started and worked on creating one. There are so many music channels on YouTube and I wanted Urban Sweet Spot to stand out. I wanted a smooth, chill channel but with the music that I and many will enjoy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York this is the music I have always listened to. I wanted a channel that had RnB, Dancehall/Reggae, Afrobeat, etc., instrumentals that could be used to relax. For example, the “Kwanzaa Playlist,” has Afrobeat, Dancehall, Afrosoul Chill instrumentals for every principle in Kwanzaa. “Feelings” is a Dark RnB x Trapsoul instrumental for Valentine’s Day and “Gwo Dam” is a Chill Kompa x Zouk x Kizomba track for Women’s International Day. In the times that we are living in, self-care, mental health and just relaxation is key. Listen to these instrumentals at work, while studying or chilling out.

This is just the beginning. What was just a thought is slowly growing into something that I truly enjoy doing.
