The candy cane’s roots are believed to have started in the 17th century. During festivals, white sugar sticks were handed out as a symbol of purity. It is believed that a choirmaster from the Cologne Cathedral in Germany gave the candy cane its shape in the 1670s.

It will stay on display until January 13, 2024.
