Kwanzaa means "first" in Swahili and signifies the first fruits of the harvest. In 1966, Maulana Ron Karenga adopted the basic principles of the harvest celebrations in Africa to create the observance of Kwanzaa. From December 26 to January 1, many people of African descent celebrate Kwanzaa.
The seven principles of Kwanzaa are: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba and Imani.
This sweet chill track is "Kuumba", the sixth principle in Kwanzaa. Meaning "creativity", this day is for persons to restore their home or community doing creative acts. Many do this by creating, songs, artwork or stories. Or, one can create different solutions for everyday problems within the community. This track is perfect to listen to while creating or (relax, chill, meditate) after. Enjoy!
