Today marks the 219th anniversayr of Haitian Flag Day. On May 18, 1803 Catherine Flon created the Haitian Flag (using her own hair to sew the pieces). She symbolically removed the white part of the French flag and joined the red and blue pieces together (which represents the people of Haiti).
